IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
Voluntary Field Retrofit Program for Scotsman Vertical Modular Dice and Half Dice Cubers with regards to their Harvest Assist Solenoid Parts
We have learned the harvest assist solenoid in US-made Scotsman vertical modular dice and half dice cubers that we sold from December 2006 through February 3rd, 2010, may fail and result in an electrical arc that can pose a fire hazard.
We have no reports of injuries or damage other than to the ice machine itself. Nevertheless, we have identified a solution, informed our local authorities of the action that we are taking to fix the problem, and launched a voluntary retrofit program to address the issue in all markets.
Our retrofit program involves installing a retrofit kit on affected cubers where the machines are located at no charge to our customers. Addressing this issue is an important part of our commitment to product quality and to the satisfaction and safety of our customers. We thank you for your preference for Scotsman products and your understanding as we resolve this issue.
Identification of Cubers Included in Retrofit Program
To learn if your ice machine is included in our retrofit program, please verify the model and serial number on the machine’s data plate.
Your ice machine is included in our program if:
- Model number begins with C0322, C0330, C0522, C0530, C0630, C0830, C1030, C1448, C1848, or C2148, AND
- Serial number begins with 05, 06, 07, 08 or 09, AND
- Machine does not bear a sticker with a green check mark on white background or a flag on the bottom of the front panel where the panel wraps around the right side of the machine
No Scotsman machines made in Europe, and no Scotsman US-made flake or nugget ice machines or undercounter cubers are involved.
